Portal Project Questions

•  What is the process to add a student to a “team” . 
• how do you define the initial group that you want a team site for
• how do you add a new student to that group
 
• What are all the ways we can use the portal to :
• Send a generic message to all students  (for example – no power in the student center type messages)
• Send a generic message to an identified subgroup of students (for example – reminding all athletes that they need to see their counselor for registration)
• Send a specific message to those members of an identified subgroup who fit a limiting criteria (for example – financial aid students who do not have all their documents into the finaid office)
• Send a personalized message to all students who meet a limiting criteria (for example – those who are on probation listing the classes they are having problems with, what the problems are and  giving them information about available counseling.
• Send a personalized message to a specific student 
 
• How can we use Communications Management with the Portal?
 
• What is Datatel's Workflow and how can we use it with the Portal?
 
• What is Sharepoint's Infopath and how can we use it with the Portal? (is this how we would create forms for the students to fill out?)
 
• How can we use the portal to set up a self-service function for students to be able to track the status of things like transcript requests etc?
 
• How many constituencies does San Jose/Evergreen have for their 3 campuses?
 
• If we choose to go with a single student constituency, (and we all agree that the students at both campuses need the same webparts) can we “brand” differently for mc students than for wv students?
